For questions of all kinds the team of the World Championships office is also available during the World Championships. Feel free to e-mail (info@schladming2013.at) or call (+43 3687/23800). If you have specific questions concerning a certain department, we are pleased to put you in touch with the respective department manager.
Are dogs allowed in the stadium?
Dogs are not allowed, exception: guide dogs. They are allowed in a special sector.
Questions concerning the environment
What is the environment concept, how is waste management organised, what kind of glasses will be used?
The ÖSV (Austrian Ski Federation) as the host of the World Ski Championships 2013 wants to realize environmentally-friendly World Championships and admits – together with the region Schladming, the Province of Styria and the Republic of Austria“ – to organize sustainable World Championships, this is to contribute to climate protection and sustainable development. In the VIP area, glassware and ceramic dinnerware will be used. In the public areas, a deposit system with reusable plastic cups and compostable dinnerware will be implemented.
Questions concerning fan clubs
Whom do fan clubs contact?
Fan clubs may book tickets for the Fankurve (“Fan Turn“) by contacting fanclubs@schladming2013.at. MIND: the number of tickets is limited!
Questions concerning children and adolescents
What is the Jugend OK (Youth Organization Committee) and what are its tasks?
The Jugend OK supports the OC in regards to all questions concerning youth-friendly World Championships. The members of the Jugend OK also work as journalists / contributors for new media.
Are there any special offers for kids?
We try to offer a diverse program for any taste besides the sport events. In the future, you will find an overview of the program on our website www.schladming2013.at.
Is it safe to take children to the stadium?
We recommend you not to take babies and toddlers to the stadium.
Questions concerning the program / side events / medal ceremonies
What else is planned besides the World Championships competitions?
Aside from the competitions we are working on compiling a diverse program. For details, please check www.schladming2013.at. If you are interested in excursions in the region, the team of Schladming-Dachstein Tourism Marketing can be contacted via phone (+43 3687/23310) or online via www.schladming-dachstein.at.
I am a musician and would like to perform during the World Championships.
We are currently collecting inquiries and offers by musicians and bands and will get back to them at some point in the future.
When and where to the medal ceremonies take place?
The medal ceremonies take place in the finish – these are the ceremonies directly after the end of the race (so-called Flower Ceremony). The medals, presents etc. will be handed over to the athletes in the evening (exact time will be announced) at the Medal Plaza. The men’s slalom is an exception though, because on Sunday, 17 February 2013, the medals will be handed over to the winners directly after the race in the finish.
What is going on in the „Fanmeile“ (“Fan Mile“). Are there any “after-show parties“?
There will be a big visitors’ tent, catering in the city and in the finish. Details are not available at the moment.

How to do I get tickets for Kevin Costner’s concert?
We will post detailed information about Kevin Costner’s exclusive concert on our website soon.
Where can I get tickets for the opening ceremony on 4 February 2013?
We are currently deciding on how to allocate tickets for the opening ceremony. If you are interested in participating, let us know by e-mailing to office@schladming2013.at.
Questions concerning merchandising
Where can I get Hopsi animals and other World Championships merchandise?
All World Championships merchandise will be available in shops in Schladming. Besides the popular Hopsi animals many other articles like lanyards, pins, cups and a broad range of clothing will be available. You can buy those articles on www.schladming2013-shop.at. World Championships textile articles will be available at Intersport as official retailer.
Where do I get World Championships stickers?
Send an e-mail with your address to office@schladming2013.at or give us a call (+43 3687/23800 and we will send you the required stickers. It would be great if you could post a picture on our Facebook page to show where you put the sticker.
Questions concerning volunteers
How can I volunteer for the World Championships? Volunteers’ department?
Volunteers will arrive on the day requested by their respective team leaders and start work. The volunteers’ department offers basic training and introduction, detailed training is offered by the respective department manager.
Who is allowed to volunteer? How are volunteers chosen?
Basically everyone you registered in the system we programmed for the registration. Since December 2011 no registrations have been possible, as more than 1,000 people are waitlisted. More than 2,000 people registered. The departments where volunteers have to opportunity to work at received the printouts of the registrations and chose their volunteers individually based on the provided data.
Questions concerning skiing possibilites and slopes
Which slopes are still available for leisure skiers?
You will find a detailed plan of available slopes during the World Championships on our homepage soon.
How to I get down into the valley from the Planai during the World Championships?
There are no restrictions to ski down „Lärchkogel“ or „Schönfahrtpiste“ and to get to the mountain station Golden Jet. From there you may ski down „Über die freien Wiesen“ to get to the mid-station Golden Jet or take the cable-car from the top to the valley station Golden Jet or from the Lärchkogel valley station take the pedestrian tunnel underneath the „FIS-Abfahrt“ to the mid-station Planaibahn and take it to the valley station.
When do restrictions of slopes begin?
Planai: Valley runs closed from approximately 21 January until 18 February 2013! The Planai Bahn cable car will be in operation and open to guests.
Hauser Kaibling: Slight restrictions resulting from the introduction of WC practice pistes from approx. 1 February until 18 February 2013.
Reiteralm: Slight restrictions resulting from the introduction of WC training pistes from approx. 1 February until 18 February 2013.
Hochwurzen, Dachstein, Galsterberg, Fageralm, Stoderzinken, Ramsau ski lifts:
NO restrictions during the World Ski Championships!
How to I get to Planai during the World Championships?
Guests are recommended to use the Golden Jet. The axis Golden Jet – Lärchkogelbah – Marächenwiesebahn – Mitterhaus can be used without restrictions and so the 4-mountain ski area is not affected. The Planaibahn can be used during the World Championships. However, there will be disturbances of access during the events.
Questions concerning journey, parking and traffic
How do I best get around using public transport?
We try to push the use of public transport by offering free bus rides for spectators with valid tickets and accredited persons in the greater area of Schladming (within the radius of approx. 10 to 15 km) according to the bus schedule on location and, in the future, it will also be available via www.schladming2013.at and at the tourism facilities of the whole area.
Where do I find parking spots?
We are currently drafting a parking guidance system.
How does the free journey by public transport “within a radius of 50 km“ work?
You get to Schladming from Selzthal and Bischofshofen by rail. There are a total of 20 additional stops along the route. In the future, a list of all train stations and a train schedule will be online.
Within the radius of 10 to 15 km, busses are available. It is possible to travel to Schladming for free with a valid ticket.
Are there special VIP parking spots?
This has not been decided yet.
Can I travel to Schladming via helicopter?

Can one drive through the city of Schlamding during the World Championship? Where do I park if I work in Schladming?
For shopping trips and residents, the inner city is passable. Commuters will have to use special parking areas.
Are there parking spots for busses? Where?
There are enough parking spots for busses available. In the future, a plan will be available on via www.schladming2013.at.
Questions concerning disabled persons
How can I visit the World Championships with disabilities?
There will be a special sector for persons in wheelchairs. Please register for wheelchair tickets by contacting office@schladming2013.at.
Questions concerning VIPs
Where is the VIP tent located?
The exclusive VIP tent for GOLD VIPs is only 100 meters away from the finish on the Medal Plaza. Also the catering for this category is located there. SILVER VIPs are located at Sporthotel Royer, which is only a 5-minutes walk from the finish area. Catering is also available there.
Questions concerning slopes
Is there an opportunity to see the whole course?
You can follow the races on skies in the area of the Quellboden and also along the mid-station during the speed events. Further down from the mid-station, you have some view of various areas from Planaistraße. It is planned to build up stands for spectators along the men’s courses.
On which slopes do the races take place?
All ladies’ races take place on the „Streicherabfahrt“, except the ladies Slalom, and all men’s races on the „FIS-Abfahrt“.
Questions concerning accommodation
Where do I get rooms for the time of the World Championships?
It would be best if you directly contacted Schladming-Dachstein Tourism Marketing. You can make online accommodation requests on their website - www.schladming-dachstein - and then will be contacted by landlords.

Why is it not possible to book rooms for the World Championships right now? Is everything fully booked already?
Do not hesitate to contact the team of Schladming-Dachstein Tourism Marketing with your inquiries by phone (+43 3687/23310) or e-mail (wm2013@schladming-dachstein.at). Your request will be forwarded to landlords who have to opportunity to get back to you with a concrete offer. Please mind that the World Championships take place during the semester break and carnival, so some landlords might insist on booking a stay of one week at least.
Questions concerning tickets
Are there any discounts for local people?
There are no discounts for local people. Tickets are available via Öticket (www.oeticket.at) and at the box offices.
What kinds of tickets are available?
Besides regular single day passes, there is also a World Championships pass that is valid for all 11 races. There is a week pass for the first week (5 races) and one for the second week (6 races). Tickets are available via www.oeticket.at.

Why are some categories of tickets “sold out“ online and later on available again?
Generally all tickets are on sale now.
When will one receive the tickets?
The ticket dispatch will presumably start in October 2012.
Are there any discounts for children, senior citizens or groups?
Children younger than 10 years have free admission (exception: VIP). For children from 10 to 15, youth tickets are available. There are no group discounts. However, school classes may contact the World Championships office: office@schladming2013.at.
There are no discounts for senior citizens.
Are there any special offers for companies?
No, there are not any special offers for companies.
Can I also buy tickets somewhere else except online?
Since 14th September tickets are available in all Raiffeisen Banks in Austria. From October it is possible to buy tickets in all other ÖTicket agencies.
What do I get to see from the different areas of the stands and how much do the different areas cost?
Sector Red: you stand directly alongside the slope and are in the middle of events.
Day pass during the week: € 25,00
Day pass on the weekend: € 35,00
Sector Green: The fan clubs will be found in this area to carry the athletes to the finish with their cheering. Good view of the men’s courses, some restrictions of the ladies’.

Sector Blue: The perfect spot for everyone who wants to follow the races carefully. Ideal view of the ladies’ and men’s courses.

Is there any seating in the stadium?
Actually there is no seating. It is possible to book a seating box. There are located on the Gold Terrace. Please reserve and book by contacting vip@schladming2013.at
From which areas do I get to see most of the courses?
The Blue Sector allows perfect sight of both the ladies’ and the men’s courses. The Green Sector allows good sight of the men’s courses, but only restricted of the ladies’.
Are there any tickets for places along the slope?
We are currently working on additional stands. As soon as negotiations have been finished and all permission have been received, we will inform you about all details on our website.
